Be gentle with me, it’s my first time
So here we go, welcome to the first, of hopefully many, articles coming from the mind of Silverback Jim. There is at present a very good feeling with regards to the fitness industry.
Both the young and the old are seeing the benefits of regular training and a sensible eating regime.
But not everyone will go to the gym. And there will be a variety of reasons for that.
I don’t know what I am doing.
I want to lose a bit of weight first
I can’t seem to fit it in to my day
I am too tired
Tomorrow I will start
And the list is seemingly endless, but hey who are we kidding?… yes we all lead busy lives. Yes we all have other stuff to be getting on with, after school commitments, overtime to pay for that holiday, or the rear extension or the new car or last year’s holiday.
All pretty much legitimate reasons…right…well actually no.. The only person who is going to look after your health is you.. And that’s where a membership to a gym or a club will pay off in the long run… there are dozens of different types of fitness families out there, you just have to find one that fits you.. Once you do, you will find that your new family will share the same reason for going. And you will also see that not everyone that goes to the gym is a meat head or an airhead, only concerned with his or her looks. But, and this is a big but, most people that frequent the gym are all fighting some sort of personal battle. Be it the battle with weight loss, or the need to cut the risk of diabetes, or that self-esteem issue that a recent breakup has left you feeling, but like the list of excuses not to go there is also a list of reasons why you should, and why you should continue to go.
Each month we shall be touching on a vast collection of topics, to inform and maybe entertain you. You never know, we hope to spark something that will inspire you, or even give you another way of looking at things.
This will be from a gym goers perspective, a real person, like all of you. If you have a topic or subject that you want to know more about, get in touch and I shall find out the info for you, no names, just info.
Thank you for reading this and I hope that you will be gentle with me, as this is my first time writing.
But wherever or however you train make sure it’s fun. See you next time. And love lifting..
